In Your Mind may refer to:
In Your Mind is the fourth solo studio album by Bryan Ferry, the former lead vocalist for Roxy Music. It was his first solo album consisting entirely of original songs: the first two had been cover albums, the second concluding with an original song, the third a collection of B-side and EP material consisting of cover versions.
As Ferry's first solo all-original LP effort, released after Roxy Music went on a four-year hiatus, it was supported by an extensive tour.
Reviewing for AllMusic, critic Ned Raggett wrote of the album "On balance, though, In Your Mind remains the secret highlight of Ferry's musical career, an energetic album that would have received far more attention as a full Roxy release." And the critic Robert Christgau wrote of the album "Ferry has custom-designed a new line of songs for his solo concept, rather than borrowing from early Roxy or his humble forebears, and especially on side one the stuff is appealingly down-to-earth." The album was given a three and half star review in the Rolling Stone Album Guide with the following comments "In Your Mind strives for the windswept, bracing impact of Roxy Music's classic Siren. The surfeit of Ferry's compostions is gratifying, though even the hookiest ("Tokyo Joe," "Party Doll") merely restate Roxy's familiar romantic and musical themes."
"Être une femme" (English: "Being a Woman") is the first single from the third French album, Luminescence by Anggun. This single was released in late 2004, earlier than the album which was released in 2005. This single peaked at #16 at France Singles Top 100, making her second Top 20 hits in France. According to Bureau Export (french-music.org) the song peaked at #2 in 2005 Airplay Chart and became one of the biggest hits in 2005. This single was also chosen as "The most popular single 2004" by Radio France International and has sold around 55,000 copies there. English version of the song, "In Your Mind", was popular in Asia as well and has since remained as one of Anggun's famous songs.
"Être une femme" was composed by Jean Pierre Taïeb in 2004. The song relies heavily on Arabic music, with R&B influence. The French version of the song has a guest rap from Diam's titled "Juste Être une femme" and a solo version. The song Ye Ishq Hai, from the Indian movie, Jab We Met uses a similar tune to Anggun's song. Also, beats of both song are similar to a 1994 song "Roop Suhana Lagta Hai" ,whose music has been given by A.R. Rahman.
Hark the frozen chimes of winter
Crystal shimmer in your mind
To the first time when you saw her
You implored her to be kind
In the open fields around you
All before you gone to ground
Both the question and the answer
Deep inside you, you shall find
And while you're strollin'
Through the summer of your years
Enchanted, a garden overgrown
Don't call me sentimental
Those of you who care
Could find there a lover and a friend to the end
And if you're taken
By the spirit of your age
No reason to carve the cornerstone
Sway me, trade me
Your philosophy
First you're sowin', then you're growin'
Then you reap until you sleep
Will you scale the silver studded mountain?
Where contemplation will spring to mind
See the veiled prophet's withered gaze reflect the 'Nouvelle-vague'
Glazed visions imprisoned in your mind
Unwinding rivers flowing through the meadows to the sea
Paths of glory through shifting glades to fall
Present laughter and the memory of troubles you have seen
